Vincent MeunierUsing Computational Approaches to Optimize Carbon Supercapacitors:
|
Vincent Meunier is a research scientist the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) with the Computational Chemical Sciences Group in the Computer Science and Mathematics Division. His research interests are centered on theory, modeling and computer simulation in areas relevant to nanoscience. In particular, he conducts research in theoretical physics, with special emphasis into electronic quantum transport and novel scanning probe microscopy techniques. He recently worked on the understanding of physical processes taking place in carbon nanopores and their application for energy storage, thereby developing an atomistic understanding of the origin of the record-high capacitace in small pores. His work is equally divided between application (simulation) and code development on large scale computational resources. In addition, he has been pursuing tight collaborations with experimental groups within and outside ORNL. |
