Galen Shipman came to the National Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS) in September 2007 from Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), where he was acting team leader of the Network Research Group within the laboratory’s Advanced Computing Laboratory (ACL). As leader of the Technology Integration Group at NCCS, he has lead efforts to bring the next-generation Lustre file system, known as Spider, to the center. Spider will provide center-wide access to a common high performance storage system, accessible from all major LCF resources. This system will provide new capabilities in Simulation, Visualization and Data Analysis, further solidifying ORNL's leadership role in High Performance Computing. |
