Community Involvement
Team UT-Battelle is a volunteer-service
support concept. Its purpose is to help Oak Ridge National Laboratory's employees lend
their services to community projects.
The Team UT-Battelle concept facilitates volunteer activities by offering advice, consultation and the organizational support needed to get the projects and initiatives off the ground, as well as possibly a little money for items that will help promote the projects. It also provides a way to attract volunteers within the Lab who are willing to commit their valuable time and effort to support such projects.
Through Team UT-Battelle, Lab employees who serve worthy causes can attract attention to them, get support for them, and earn recognition for both the projects and the volunteers who participate in them. It's run by the volunteers and is an employee-driven, coordinated, volunteer community service organization that comprises Lab staff, family members, friends, and retirees, all working to assist the communities where we live and work
