Swarm
based Robotic Hazardous Aerosol Sources Localization Project
When a hazardous contaminant container is accidentally or intentionally released in an open area, the material inside the container will mix with air to become an aerosol and be diffused into the surrounding area with the flow of air. The traditional approach of using an animal such as a dog for detecting, tracking and seeking odor sources cannot be used for locating such highly fatal aerosols. In this research, we provide a biasing expansion swarm-based exploring approach (BESE) for helping the robots efficiently explore the environment and find all emission sources as soon as possible. The key concept in this approach is swarm behavior. (Detail...) |

Multiple
Robots Collaborative Exploring Project
This work considers the problem of using multiple small, low-cost robots, with a limited range of local communication ability, to collaboratively search and engage an indeterminate number of tasks in an unknown large-scale hostile area. (Detail...) |

Dynamic Perimeter
Surveillance by Swarms of Small Robotic Vehicles Project
The target of this project is developing a strategy that using multiple simple robotic Vehicles dynamically detecting the perimeter of hazardous areas , such as minefields, biochemical or nuclear materials, in an unknown knowledge. (Detail...) |

This project is a project that includes me and three M.S. students. Our current works include developing driver that can connect the ER1 robot with the play/stage simulation system, implementing the algorithms, which are developed in Hazardous Material Perimeter Detection Project, on the three real ER1 robots in Multimedia lab. Developing A
Multi-agent Cooperative Model for Rescue in The Large-scale Disaster
Environment (PhD research Proposal)
This proposal suggests a multi-agent cooperative strategy that helps rescue team cooperatively explore the dynamical changed disaster environment, compose global environment information map and allocate different tasks to different multi-agent group. To verify the efficiency of the strategy, an earthquake simulation system will be developed and a physically implemented heterogeneous robots system will be build. At the same time, the performance of the proposed cooperative strategy will be tested in the simulation system. (Detail...)

An
Multi-agent Emergency Medical Assistant for the International Space Station
This project is funded by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration). The target of the project is to develop an emergency medical assistant system for future human interplanetary traveling such like explore Mars or other deep space traveling. (Detail...) |

Nissl stained
Brain Slice Image Registration by Using Phase-correlate Alignment Algorithm
This is a co-research project with Department of Psychological and Brain Science. The main object of this project is reconstructs a three-dimensional computerized map of Nissl stained brain anatomy with digital imaging processing techniques. (Detail...) |
