My name is Selima Rollins. I am a Senior at the City University of New York, York College. My major is Information Systems Management, with a minor in Math. I am the president of two organizations at my university, Nu Mu chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Inc. and Alpha II Omega. Both are organizations dedicated to community service and the empowerment of women. This summer I am doing an internship at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. ORNL is a Department of Energy Laboratory.

My Project

This summer through the Research Alliance in Math and Science, I am working in the Computer Science and Mathematics Division's Network and Cluster Computing group. The Network and Cluster Computing group is currently working on the OSCAR (Open Source Cluster Applications Resource) project.

My project entails script testing and development. I will use APITest tool to convert OSCAR testing scripts, from Perl into XML. This project also involves correcting some of the problems that the current test scripts have, and adding new test scripts to address issues that the current test scripts do not resolve.

One of these issue is dependency. Most of the test scripts are interdependent on each other to run and successfully execute, so when one fails they both fail. Currently there is not a method to state exactly why these test scripts failed. Other issues with the current make up of OSCAR is that it is difficult to order test scripts and updating applications has to be done manually.

Once the test scripts are in APITest Tool format,  APITest Tool will work as the framework that manages how the test script are run.
