Richard C. Ward

Richard Ward is a senior R&D staff member in the Modeling and Simulation Group of the Computational Sciences and Engineering Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He has degrees in physics from the University of California, Riverside. His principal area of research in the last four years is the development of computational environments for human physiological systems modeling. Integrating modeling and simulation, data analysis, and visualization in problem-solving environments improves utilization of the models.

Ward leads the Oak Ridge National Laboratory portion of the Virtual Soldier Project, a new initiative of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency of the Department of Defense. From the DARPA web site: "The Virtual Soldier Program seeks to establish a new capability that will revolutionize medical care to support the soldier."
