This web sit is primarily composed of a synopsis of research done on the TeraGrid computers. The main issue with the TeraGrid computers is that the data transfer rate is not operating at it's full potential. To optimize the data transfer speed, the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is analyzed and compared to other file transfer protocols such as Uberftp, Lustre, UDP (User Datagram Protocol) etc. Data from differences in time sent received and acknowledged between a sender and a host will determine which data transfer tool would be best for the TeraGrid computer.
