Neutron Source Data Analysis
The summer goal is to develop a graphical user
interface (GUI) for the NL2SOL fitting code using NetBeans
software. NL2SOL is being tested by Meili Chen to fit
experimental backscattering data from the Spallation
Neutron Source (SNS). When a user runs
the program, the calculations will be sent from the SNS portal to the TeraGrid where they will be run on parallel processors. This
GUI will be useful because it will allow the users to run the fitting program
without having to know any information about parallel computing or the TeraGrid. A second goal is to learn to use the TeraGrid to
debug running NL2SOL from the SNS portal.
