The workshop objective is to bring together climatologists, computer scientists and engineers for new ideas for the next generation models and simulation, as well as high-performance computing environments that are envisioned to be available in the next few decades.

This workshop is related to the series of Japan-U.S. workshops first held in Hawaii in March 1998, and annually thereafter. Topics of interest include (1) The next generation climate change models and sustainability models for global warming; (2) Climate models, parallel algorithms, and optimization for new computing environments; and (3) Perspectives for new high-performance computing facilities and technologies.

Participation is by invitation. Registration will close February 20.
